NORTH WILKESBORO, N.C. – More than 50 zMAX CARS Tour drivers made laps on the repaved North Wilkesboro Speedway Wednesday, as they tested Hoosier tire compounds for use in the May 14-15 late model events at the historic track. Drivers praised the new asphalt, saying the track retains character while also providing a smoother, faster racing surface.

Everyone knew entering Saturday’s CARS Tour race at the extremely abrasive New River All-American Speedway in Jacksonville, North Carolina that these 125 laps would be a challenge. With a bunch of leaders even before the halfway mark, it was clear that whoever walked away as the winner would definitely have to earn it.

The second race of the zMAX CARS Tour Late Model Stock Car season will be at New River All American Speedway in Jacksonville, N.C. this weekend. The .400-mile oval has produced a pair of thrilling events for the Tour the past two seasons, won by Connor Hall (2022) and Brenden Queen (2023). Both drivers also won the pole position for their respective victories.

The NASCAR Cup Series officially saw race cars take to the newly repaved North Wilkesboro Speedway on Wednesday and Thursday with two-time champion Joey Logano, Daytona 500 champion William Byron, and Ty Gibbs all participating in a Goodyear tire test at the historic North Carolina short track.

The 17-year-old talent and 2024 Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona winner, Connor Zilisch will make his NASCAR Xfinity Series debut following his 18th birthday at Watkins Glen International on Sept. 14 behind the wheel of JR Motorsports’ famed No. 88 Chevrolet. Additionally, Zilisch will compete at Kansas Speedway (Sept. 28), Homestead-Miami Speedway (Oct. 26), and Phoenix Raceway (Nov. 9).

The quest for three CARS Tour Late Model Stock Car championships in a row was always going to be difficult. The competition is as good as it gets with any series in the country, but Carson Kvapil’s task became even harder when it was announced that he would be missing a race at Hickory Motor Speedway next month so he can make his NASCAR Xfinity Series debut.

MOORESVILLE, N.C. — TRICON Garage (TRICON) announced today that CARS Tour late model stock car standout Brenden “Butterbean” Queen will make his NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series (NCTS) debut at North Wilkesboro (N.C.) Speedway behind the wheel of the No. 1 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro.

Due to an extremely poor forecast, CARS Tour officials announced Wednesday evening that this weekend’s season-opener at Southern National Motorsports Park for the Late Model Stock Cars will be rescheduled for Saturday afternoon, March 10.

To kick off its 10th season of competition, the zMAX CARS Late Model Stock Car Tour is heading back to the track where it all began, Southern National Motorsports Park.

One year ago, Kyle Campbell was involved in a crash at crash at Hickory Motor Speedway that he didn’t think his family-run team would be able to come back from. Amazingly, they made it back to the track a month later, but their car was never the same as Campbell struggled to finish in the top 20 his next three races.

After a successful 2023 season, CARS Tour officials and FloRacing have reached an extension of their broadcast rights agreement that will see FloRacing remain as the official live-streaming partner of the CARS Tour in 2024, CARS Tour officials announced Monday afternoon.

On Monday afternoon, zMAX CARS Tour officials unveiled their 19-race schedule for the 2024 season, which will kick off at Southern National Motorsports Park in March, and end at the historic North Wilkesboro Speedway in mid-October.

In May of 2023, Connor Zilisch formally announced his presence to the pavement Late Model world by winning the CARS Tour’s Pro Late Model 100-lap feature at Ace Speedway as a 16-year-old. Fast-forward less than a year and now Zilisch has formally announced his presence to the entire racing world by becoming a winner of the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona at just 17 years old.
