With a huge championship purse on the line, a handful of Dirt Late Model racing's biggest stars have committed to running the entire 2022 Castrol FloRacing Night in America season. The popular miniseries, which primarily contests mid-week events, has increased the championship payout to $75,000 this year if a driver has perfect attendance.

Twelve races are on-tap for the second-year tour this year, with stops at many of the nation's most high-profile race tracks. A pair of events at Eldora Speedway and Brownstown Speedway were hosted during the month of April.

Every Castrol FloRacing Night in America race in 2022 will pay a minimum of $22,022 to win. The season-ending Peach State Classic at Senoia Raceway will pay $53,053 to win.

The combination of high-paying event and the $75,000 championship payout has attracted some of the most well-known drivers in Dirt Late Model racing.

Who's Committed?

Brandon Sheppard - Sheppard, a four-time World of Outlaws Late Model Series, champion plans to compete in every Castrol FloRacing Night in America race in between his busy full-time schedule with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. Sheppard scored his first Castrol victory last September at Fairbury Speedway. He currently sits fourth in the championship standings after finishing fourth at Eldora and seventh at Brownstown.

Bobby Pierce - "The Smooth Operator" joins the list of full-time drivers after competing in five of the seven contested races last year. Pierce has one career Castrol FloRacing Night in America victory, which came last May at Tri-City Speedway. The four-time Summer Nationals champion is currently fifth in the championship standings after recording finishes of 11th at Eldora and second at Brownstown.

Tyler Erb - Erb, a 17-time Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series winner, plans to chase the full Castrol FloRacing Night in America schedule after competing in four events last season. "Terbo" recorded his best career Castrol finish of second during the 2021 season opener at Tyler County Speedway. Erb is currently 11th in the point standings after finishes of 10th at Eldora and 17th at Brownstown.

Ricky Thornton, Jr. - Thornton, the 2021 Dirt Track World Championship winner, joins the list of full-time drivers chasing the $75,000 championship payout. RTJ finished fifth in the Castrol season opener at Eldora and followed it up with a 10th-place finish at Brownstown, which put him seventh in the championship standings.

Ryan Gustin - Add "The Reaper" to the list of drivers who will be competing full-time with Castrol FloRacing Night in America. Gustin, a former USMTS national champion, opened the season with a pair of top 10 finishes and currently sits sixth in the standings.

In addition to the list of drivers above, more full-time Castrol FloRacing Night in America drivers are expected to be announced soon.

While these five drivers have committed to running the full tour, a strong field of entries is expected at each and every Castrol FloRacing Night in America event. In 2021, a total of 136 drivers competed in at least one Castrol event. Through two events this season, 68 drivers have already competed in at least one event.

On top of the $75,000 championship payout, the series runner-up receives $15,000 with $8,000 for third, $7,000 for fourth and $6,000 for fifth. The sixth-place points finisher receives $5,000 with $4,000, $3,750, $3,500 and $3,000 going to the rest of the top 10. Points are tabulated using a driver's best 10 finishes.

Every Castrol FloRacing Night in America event will be streamed live exclusively on FloRacing for those unable to attend in person.
