ARCA Menards Series East racing at the historic Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway is a treat to anybody who enjoys Saturday night stock car racing on a short track.

With a length of 0.596 miles and 18-degree banking in the corners, the track located in the heart of Nashville, Tennessee, features a configuration ideal for exciting, side-by-side racing.

That’s why East Series drivers always look forward to racing at the historic venue.

The ARCA Menards Series has competed at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway six times; the first race came in 1992, and the series raced at Nashville in consecutive years from 2015-2019. What’s now the ARCA Menards Series East, though, has only raced at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway three times, in 2007, 2008 and 2021.

TRACK PROFILE: NASHVILLE FAIRGROUNDS SPEEDWAY

Having opened in 1904, Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway is the second oldest continually operated motor racing track in the United States. Only the Milwaukee Mile on the Wisconsin State Fairgrounds, which opened in 1903, has been around longer and still hosts auto racing.

Originally a dirt oval, Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway has hosted motor racing on an annual basis since 1915. The half-mile paved oval we recognize today was built in 1958.

That year brought the first NASCAR Cup Series race to Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway, and the series visited at least once a year every year until 1984.

The ARCA Menards Series’ first race at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway came in 1992, when David Green won the Nashville 200 after leading 175 of 200 circuits and lapping the entire field.

The series returned in 2015 and raced at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway every year until 2019, producing five different winners in those five races.

Then called the NASCAR Busch Series East, what’s now the ARCA Menards Series East made its debut at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway in 2007. Rogelio Lopez picked up the only East Series win of his career that day when he beat Joey Logano to the line by 0.110 seconds.

The next year, the series (at this point called the NASCAR Camping World East Series) returned to Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway. Matt Kobyluck won the race.

Today, Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway continues to host local and regional racing from early April through late October. The season annually concludes with the running of the historic All American 400.
