The roar of NAPA Auto Parts Big 5 Late Models returns to Meridian Speedway this Saturday, August 29, as the quarter-mile asphalt oval plays host to the NAPA Auto Parts Idaho 208. Alongside the fastest full- bodied stock cars on the quarter-mile, the North West Tour Truck Series, Teleperformance Street Stocks, and Mulder Engineered Junior Late Models go wheel-to-wheel for the last time in August.

The knock-down, drag-out nature of the NAPA Auto Parts Big 5 Late Models will be in overdrive this Saturday as drivers from all over the West race for $10,000 in the NAPA Auto Parts Idaho 208. A strong contingent of competitors including Washington’s Garrett Evans and Haeden Plybon, plus the crème of the Meridian Speedway crop, take on the track affectionately known as the Concrete Jungle for the biggest single race payday in track history.

The door-to-door action continues Saturday night as competitors from the North West Tour Truck Series trade body blows in a pair of main events. Watch for these hard-nosed racers to leave a trail of bent sheet metal and torn fiberglass in their wake.

American iron is also on display Saturday as the Teleperformance Street Stocks rumble to green. The most hard-fought division on the quarter-mile this year, a scant 55 markers separate the top five point earners in this class where steel-bodied production cars are the stars.

The future stars of Meridian Speedway take the track now in the Mulder Engineered Race Engines Junior Late Models. Fifteen-year-old Ashton Cristiani leads a fast and talented field to green Saturday for the division’s sixth showdown of the year.

General admission to Saturday night’s NAPA Auto Parts Idaho 208 is just $14 for adults, $12 for seniors and military members, $7 for kids 7-11, and free for kids 6 and under. Gates open at 4:45 p.m. Saturday with time trials at 5:30 p.m. and racing at 6:45 p.m. Log on to www.meridianspeedway.com to secure your tickets today, and stay up to date by sending ‘meridianspeed’ to 84483 to join our text club. Full flag-to-flag coverage of the NAPA Auto Parts Idaho 208 will be available on FloSports.tv beginning at 6 p.m. We’ll see you this Saturday, August 29, for the NAPA Auto Parts Idaho 208 from under the big yellow water at Meridian Speedway.
