Another former NASCAR Cup Series champion named Kyle is open to testing a Sprint Car.

During a media session at Daytona International Speedway ahead of Sunday’s Daytona 500, Kyle Busch told the media that he’d be open to getting behind the wheel of a winged Sprint Car.  He has even asked fellow NASCAR Cup Series champion and two-time Knoxville Nationals champion Kyle Larson if car owner Paul Silva had an extra car to test.

Ever since son Brexton’s career began in the Micro Sprint ranks, the elder Busch has taken to the dirt as well, following the younger Busch’s racing schedule with races of his own. He has competed in Micro Sprint races across the country, including at the Tulsa Shootout.  He has scored wins at Adobe Mountain Speedway and Port City Raceway in the Micro. 

Busch has also taken to Dirt Late Model racing in the past couple of years, most notably in a team car to multi-time Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series champion and World 100 winner Jonathan Davenport during the Bristol Dirt Nationals and in a team car to Brandon Overton at the Kyle Larson Presents FloRacing Late Model Challenge at Volunteer Speedway.  He’s also a former Prelude To The Dream winner at Eldora Speedway.

Meanwhile, Kyle Larson’s Speedweeks has been a busy one, with the start of the first full season of the High Limit Sprint Car Series, set for 60 dates at racetracks across the country.  He kicked off the year with a win at East Bay Raceway Park in the rescheduled season opener on Tuesday, February 13.

Both drivers are set to compete in the Daytona 500 on Sunday, February 18.  The race is slated for 2:30 p.m. ET and will air on FOX.
