Eldora Speedway Releases First Look At Dirt Late Model Dream Entry List
The entry list for the 2023 Dirt Late Model Dream at Eldora Speedway features nearly 70 of the best dirt late model drivers in the world.
Eldora Speedway officials have released the first look at early entries for the 29th Dirt Late Model Dream on June 8-10. Currently, 66 dirt late model drivers have filed entries for the $129,000-to-win race at "The Big E."
Brandon Overton, the three-time defending winner of the Dirt Late Model Dream, headlines the list of current entries. Overton swept the "Double Dreams" contested in 2021 before nailing down the hat trick with a late pass on Chris Madden one year ago.
Overton is joined by one of the best drivers in Eldora Speedway history, Jonathan Davenport, who claimed wins in both the Eldora Million and World 100 one year ago. Despite his impressive resume at Eldora in recent years, Davenport hasn't won a Dirt Late Model Dream since his first and only win in 2015.

Other former Dirt Late Model Dream winners entered for this year's race include: Brandon Sheppard (2019), Dennis Erb Jr. (2016), Dale McDowell (2014), Shane Clanton (2012) and Jimmy Owens (2009).

Madden, who has been snakebitten at Eldora in recent years, has filed an entry as he looks to claim his first crown jewel win at the track. The current World of Outlaws Late Models points leader has a pair of Dirt Late Model Dream preliminary night wins to his credit. "Smokey" finished second (Eldora Million), second (Dirt Late Model Dream) and third (World 100) in the three major dirt late model events at Eldora last year.
The hottest driver in the country and the No. 1 ranked driver in the latest DirtonDirt.com power rankings will also be chasing his first Eldora crown jewel this weekend. Ricky Thornton, Jr., enters the race as the current Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series points leader with six wins to this credit already this year.
Hudson O'Neal, who has three Lucas Oil wins and two Castrol FloRacing Night in America wins to his credit this year, has also filed an entry for the Dirt Late Model Dream.
Mike Marlar, a winner already this year at Eldora during Castrol FloRacing Night in America, has entered the event and will be seeking the biggest win of his career at the track.

Fresh off his NASCAR Cup Series debut at World Wide Technology Raceway, Carson Hocevar will strap back into a dirt late model for the second time at Eldora Speedway. Hocevar made his dirt late model debut last year during the "Chasing The Dream" features leading into the World 100.
Other national late model stars entered for the 29th Dirt Late Model Dream include Tyler Erb, Nick Hoffman, Chris Ferguson, Bobby Pierce, Earl Pearson Jr. and Devin Moran.
Moran will be looking to break the "Million Dollar Curse" that has followed the Moran family since Donnie Moran's Eldora Million win in 2001.
