NASCAR Connections At The Lucas Oil Chili Bowl
NASCAR Connections At The Lucas Oil Chili Bowl
NASCAR drivers and others connected to the industry will be competing in the 37th Annual Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Nationals.
Drivers from all across the world of motorsports will come together January 8-14 for seven days of fun during the 37th Annual Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Nationals. The traditional dirt midget race held inside the SageNet Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma will once again feature a handful of drivers with connections to NASCAR.
Let’s take a look at some of the drivers who will be competing and which night they’ll be qualifying.
Alex Bowman (Qualifying Night: Monday)
Bowman, a seven-time NASCAR Cup Series winner, returns to the Chili Bowl looking to improve on his 11th-place finish in a B-Main one year ago. In addition to racing himself, Bowman will play the role of team owner for C.J. Leary and Jake Swanson.
Chase Briscoe (Qualifying Night: Monday)
Briscoe returns to the Chili Bowl after a stellar NASCAR Cup Series season that included a half dozen wins. The Stewart Haas Racing driver will be hungry for more after seeing his Chili Bowl end with a seventh-place finish in a C-Main last year. Briscoe’s best career finish at the event is an eighth-place result in a B-Main during the 2020 version of the race.

Josh Bilicki (Qualifying Night: Tuesday)
Welcome to the Chili Bowl, Josh Bilicki. The Wisconsin native who grew up racing on road courses will make his Midget debut at this year’s event. Bilicki, a regular in NASCAR’s top three series, made his dirt track debut during the NASCAR Cup Series dirt race at Bristol Motor Speedway in 2021.
J.J. Yeley (Qualifying Night: Thursday)
Yeley, who has over 700 career starts in NASCAR’s top three series, is set to make his 23rd consecutive attempt at the Chili Bowl. The driver of the No. 2G Midget has three top-five A-Main finishes, including a career-best finish of second in 2007.
Karsyn Elledge (Qualifying Night: Wednesday)
Elledge, the daughter of Kelley Earnhardt Miller and niece of Dale Earnhardt, Jr., will be back behind the wheel at the Chili Bowl for the first time since 2020. She finished 17th in an E-Main during her last appearance at the event.
Carson Hocevar (Qualifying Night: Wednesday)
Carson Hocevar is best known for being a pavement racer, running in the NASCAR Craftsman Trucks Series full-time for Niece Motorsports. What many people don't realize is that growing up he idolized the late Bryan Clauson. Over the last few years, Hocevar has been dabbling in dirt racing when he gets the chance. He's made starts in Dirt Late Models, and made his Chili Bowl debut in 2022. Hocevar's Chili Bowl came to an end in the I-Main after transferring out of the J-Main.
Max McLaughlin (Qualifying Night: Wednesday)
McLaughlin, a part-time competitor on the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, is set to make his Chili Bowl debut. The former ARCA Menards Series East winner is certainly no stranger to dirt racing, as he’s collected Big-Block Modified wins with the Super DIRTcar Series and Short Track Super Series. McLaughlin is the son of “Magic Shoes” Mike McLaughlin, a six-time NASCAR Xfinity Series winner.
Dillon Welch (Qualifying Night: Thursday)
After making the A-Main for the second time in his career, Welch returns to the Chili Bowl looking for more. The Chili Bowl is one of the few times each year the NBC and MRN Radio Network broadcaster straps in behind the wheel of a race car.
This year's Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Nationals will once again be streamed live on FloRacing. For the first time ever, the C-Mains, B-Mains and A-Main on Saturday will be streamed live on MAVTV on FloRacing.
